MY FIRST TIME...
NOOOO, not that first time, silly! This is a story about my first time blogging! Yes, this is my first post to MY BLOG!!!! 'And I'm so excited about it. I've been talking about it, dreaming about it, wishing about it, hoping about it, and doing everything else, except actually WRITING THIS DAGGON POST. But alas, the day is here, and I'm finally doing the thing I said I'd do, for.... YEARS, but better late than never... Anywho, so here it is... my first blog post, and the reason(s) why I am now blogging.
I had the idea to start blogging about 13 years ago, in 2007. I came across the first home decor/home renovation blog I'd ever seen. It was YoungHouseLove.com. I didn't own a home yet, but I was in search of a home, and I new that the market I was in and my price point meant that I would be purchasing a fixer upper. Well, the couple from Young House Love had just purchased their fixer upper and were blogging about it. I just KNEW this would be something great for me to get into. No, I didn't LOVE writing, but I LOVED home decor. I had never actually done a renovation project, but I figured I was handy enough.
Fast forward to 2011, I FINALLY purchased my own home! 'And boy was it a fixer upper! It's 2018 (it was when I initially wrote this post), err 2020 (when I actually published this post!), so I've been fixing up this house for 9 years now! Honestly, I didn't think it'd take this long. However, when you're doing it all alone including labor and expenses, things tend to go a bit slower... Nonetheless, this has been the most gratifying experience ever. I totally plan to do it all over again in the future. 'But don't fret, there is still PLENTY of work to be done on my current home, and I plan to share it ALL with you here on my blog! So prepare yourself for the good, the bad, and the UGLY.
Now, this is a lifestyle blog, so it won't be just about home decor and renovating. There will be posts about style, fitness, travel, and life in general. So stay tuned! I think I've been rambling on for long enough. If you've read to the end, THANK YOU! I hope you'll stay around for more. Cheers to me finally pulling the trigger to do what I LOVE!
